Day (and night) rider
Scooters, roadsters and the humble bicycle just got a whole lot more fun
It used to be that tricycles were solely the domain of those that couldn’t balance on a ‘real’ bike, but with a big engine and a futuristic look the Can-Am Spyder Roadster – it’s a ‘roadster’, not a motorcycle, according to manufacturers BRP – offers a seriously different ride for only $26,990.
For a practical commute into the city, Piaggio has added a new stablemate to its Zip 50 and Zip 100 four-stroke scooters – the Piaggio Zip 50 two-stroke retailing at $2,290.
Alternatively you could rev up with the Vespa GTS 300 Super for $8,990. The GTS 300 is a step up from the GTS250 with a punchier midrange to ensure you beat the couriers to the next lights.
Or you could cheat and look like you were making an effort – the electric Gocycle will kick in extra speed (24 km/h) at the touch of a button. It’s only available in the UK at the moment, so no one will know your secret if you get one now...
