Take the Poise chair from Melbourne-based Matthew Harding Art + Design, for example. Reminiscent of tennis racquets of yesteryear, the $3,000 chair is constructed from laminated wood and woven with monofilament, which can be tensioned to accommodate different ergonomic sensibilities.
Moving poolside, for a splash of something different you could try the oversized fibreglass cushion, also from Matthew Harding Art + Design for $4,000.
Another option for relaxation is the Bark Chaise Lounge, by West Australia-based Michael Shepherd Design. At just 3.4kg, the lounge is created using surfboard manufacturing techniques and it even floats in the pool – the perfect way to celebrate after signing the latest deal. Manufacturer details for the Bark Chaise Lounge are still being finalised, but it is expected to go into production soon.
