Linda Lowndes - Miracle Make Up

Brisbane businesswoman Linda Lowndes is breaking new ground in the medical profession and giving hope to thousands. She speaks to Joanne McCulloch. Twenty-year-old American student, Omar, went to visit Queensland businesswoman Linda Lowndes as a last resort. The Texas-based youngster was so depressed after years of bullying that he was on the verge of killing himself.

Omar suffers from a shocking and very rare set of skin conditions, which makes half his face - including one eye - black and the other half completely white. The black pigmentation is caused by a nevus birthmark and the white by a skin condition called vitiligo.

“He was very depressed when he came in and he basically told me that if this did not work, he would give up,” Lowndes says from her Brisbane surgery. “The kids would call him the lop-sided monster. He wanted to be a neurosurgeon, but he could not continue his studies because he was so depressed about how he looked.

“We used Microskin on him and the results were simply amazing. He looked so handsome and when he saw himself with normal-looking skin he started to cry and said ‘Miss Linda, Miss Linda, you have changed my life’. He went home a new boy. That was really amazing - it is why I am in this business.”
