“While we are committed to delivering tasty pizzas to customers, we’re also focussed on ensuring our staff and franchisees, the backbone of our company, are happy and grow with us.” - Todd Clayton

One of Australia’s largest pizza companies, Eagle Boys, has taken out two prestigious awards at the National Retail Association’s 2008 Rewards for Excellence program. The locally owned and operated company, which in 2007-08 achieved sales growth of $20.7 per cent, won the ‘Australia’s Supreme Retailer’ and ‘Best Franchise Retailer’ accolades.
It is the second consecutive year that Eagle Boys has clinched the franchise award.
Managing director Todd Clayton said: “This is a true honour, which acknowledges how Eagle Boys continues to strive for excellence as it grows.
“While we are committed to delivering tasty pizzas to customers, we’re also focussed on ensuring our staff and franchisees, the backbone of our company, are happy and grow with us.”
Eagle Boys has 240 stores across Australia and makes 15 million pizzas a year – generating a turnover of more than $125m a year.
The company is now in the midst of a rapid expansion plan, which could see it open another 100 stores nationally over the next 12 months, with 400 stores operating across its franchise model within the next three years.
“Recent initiatives such as the launch of the ‘double top’ and our campaign highlighting how competitors have shrunk their pizza sizes, have also helped us retain our competitive edge,” Clayton added.
Eagle Boys operates 240 franchised stores across Victoria, NSW, Qld, WA and the NT, employing more than 4000 staff.
