David Gold: A Smart Outlook

David GoldDavid Gold shared in the meteoric rise of the IT sector with LookSmart; then fell with DStore. Since then David has learnt from the mistakes of the IT industry and has built himself up again with the highly successful Wireless Hotspot operator Azure.

Azure is now the leading network owner and providerof secure Wireless Internet access in over 400 public places in Australia. It has taken some very expensive lessons learnt through DStore’s crash, the development of a vibrant business and a leap of faith to build Azure to this level of success.

Of course, like so many business beginnings, David started at the bottom. However, he rose quickly. Having completed his MBA, David answered an advertisement for LookSmart and met with Chairman Evan Thornley. Impressed with David, Thornley offered him the job and soon convinced him to move to the United States to launch LookSmart there. David relocated to San Francisco and so started his exciting career in the IT industry.
